Energy Efficiency in Australia
In September 2006, the government of South Australia invited GCI to evaluate and present recommendations on its groundbreaking draft Energy Saving law, and consultation continues. Following GCI's Brisbane Earth Dialogues in July 2006, the Lord Mayor of Brisbane formed a working group to prepare recommendations on resource efficiency to combat climate change.

 

Bio-diesel Vehicles in Pakistan
In January 2006 Green Cross Pakistan presented Pakistan's first vehicle running on bio-diesel fuel. The two-fold objective behind this project was to encourage potential investors in the energy field to think about nvironmental and energy sustainability in new terms, and also to update the local population on the efforts made by the international community to reduce CO2, NOXs and SOXs. GC Pakistan also published a report about the viability of bio-diesel vehicle use.

 

Green Cross Solar Park in Sri Lanka
The Green Cross Solar Park celebrated its official inauguration on 19 October 2007 at Wellawato beach in the Colombo district. It is a unique design in that all buildings and outdoor lighting are provided for by solar energy. The project was partially funded by GC Japan.



Green Cross Japan's Gesture in Support of Renewable Energy
In May 2005, Green Cross Japan and GCI contributed 20 solar power LED (light emitting diodes) lamps to the United Nations' Europe office in Geneva, Switzerland. This contribution is a symbolic gesture in the hope of promoting renewable energy.
