Green Cross Pakistan along with other NGOs met with the Pakistan Prime Minister’s Secretariat on 30 August to discuss the emergency response to the devastating flooding in the country as well how local and international NGOs can assist immediately and effectively.

In honour of the International Day Against Nuclear Tests, Global Green and the Embassy of Kazakhstan hosted a reception on 1 September, during which speakers called for US ratification of the 1996 Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty (CTBT) and the permanent ban on any testing of nuclear weapons.

With 29 August marking the 5th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, Global Green USA President Matt Petersen called on President Obama to demand BP fund a $2.5 billion “Gulf Coast Clean Energy and Healthy Communities Foundation” thereby helping transform the Gulf Coast into the green coast.
